The Myth of Sulfide Ore Mining without Environmental Contamination

The Minnesota Prove It First Bill would prohibit sulfide ore mining unless it could be

demonstrated that a sulfide ore mine in the USA and in a similar environment to the proposed mine site had operated for 10 years and had been closed for 10 years without environmental contamination. The nine candidates for model sulfide ore mines (Bagdad, Cactus, Cullaton Lake, Eagle, Flambeau, McLaughlin, Raglan, Rainy River, Stillwater) all have extensive records of environmental contamination.
