Public Hearings Announced!

The LUPC's Public Hearings for Rezoning Pickett Mountain to allow for polymetallic sulphide mining are set. The main meetings will be October 16-18th at Stearns Jr./Sr. High School (199 State St.) in Millinocket. Daytime sessions will be open to the public, but only pre-approved intervenors will be able to speak. The evenings of the 16th, and 17th are reserved for comments from the general public. This is the most important time to show up!

There is an additional hearing scheduled in Bangor on October 23rd at 6:30pm. Sign-ups to speak open at 6pm. The location is the Cross Insurance Center at 515 Main St.

Please write to the LUPC (wolfdenrezoning.lupc@maine.gov) and/or attend to make sure your voice is heard, and the love for Pickett Mountain Pond is adequately represented!
